Prof Anna Ranta

Professor Anna Ranta is a Wellington based academic stroke neurologist whose research focuses on hyper-acute stroke treatments and stroke service optimization with an emphasis on reducing ethnic and geographic disparities. She has 200+ peer reviewed publications, leads  several large research programs and collaborates widely across Oceania and globally.  She is the Head of Department of Medicine at University of Otago, Wellington, leads the New Zealand National Stroke Registry, is Secretary of the Australian and New Zealand Stroke Organization, founder and current co-chair of the Pacific Stroke Network, and serves on WSO, APSO, and several journal editorial boards.
