Prof Anna Ranta

Professor Anna Ranta, is a Wellington based academic neurologist focused on translational research to optimize stroke care quality and access with a strong emphasis on addressing health inequities. Her work to date has resulted in 250+ peer reviewed publications. She has led several large research programs in the hyper-acute, acute, and stroke prevention spaces collaborating globally to also improve stroke care in low and middle income countries. She is Co-Clinical Lead for the Stroke National Clinical Network, leads the New Zealand Stroke Registry, is the ANZSO President-Elect, Board Member of the WSO, APSO, and Stroke Aotearoa. She serves on the editorial boards of Stroke, Neurology, and the Journal of the American Heart Association and as stroke section editor for Springer Nature Current Neurology and Neuroscience Reports. She received the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologist Mervyn Eadie Award for career achievement and international reputation of excellence in neuroscience research.
