Pre-conference workshops are in the final stages of finalising and details will be published on the website and registration page as they become available.

Workshops will be scheduled as either morning or afternoon sessions and will include morning or afternoon tea. Lunch is not provided; however, there are numerous cafés and dining options located nearby.

Australasian Stroke Academy Workshop

The Australasian Stroke Academy welcomes you to register for our half-day pre-ANZSOC workshop. Our workshop is intended to be interactive and will rely heavily on whether you and your colleagues actively participate with questions and comments. All ANZSOC delegates are welcome.

Communication Partner Training: Supporting People with Aphasia Workshop

Do you wish to communicate more effectively with people with aphasia? Join us for a hands-on, interactive 3-hour workshop designed for healthcare professionals and stroke researchers. Led by researchers at the Queensland Aphasia Research Centre, this session blends evidence-based practice with real-world insights from people with lived experience of aphasia. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of aphasia, learn practical strategies to reduce communication barriers, and build confidence as Trained Communication Partners. This training is rarely available outside specialist settings — so don't miss the opportunity to develop these valuable skills.

AuSCR Workshop

This free half-day workshop is targeted at clinicians from hospitals participating in the AuSCR, those yet to join and plan to in future, as well as anyone interested in benchmarking for acute stroke.  Highlights will include presentations from top-performing hospitals sharing knowledge on how they are improving their stroke care, progress towards the 30/60/90 National Targets, discussion on the updated AuSCR minimum dataset, presentations from the AuSCR team on the new data platform and using interactive data dashboards for monitoring stroke care.  The workshop is also an excellent opportunity to meet some of the AuSCR team and stroke teams from across the country.
