  • Air - Brisbane International Airport (BNE) is a major gateway to Australia and a key hub for international travel in the Asia-Pacific region. It offers extensive connectivity, serving direct flights to 32 international destinations across Asia, Oceania, the Americas, the Middle East, and Europe. Major airlines like Qantas, Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, and Air New Zealand operate from BNE, providing passengers with a variety of flight options.

    Brisbane Domestic Airport is well-connected to every major city in Australia and regional centres servicing 62 destinations. Located just 20 minutes from the city centre, transit via Brisbane Airport offers quick and easy access to the city and beyond. Virgin Australia operates direct flights to Brisbane from major cities including flights from Sydney to BrisbaneMelbourne to Brisbane, and Perth to BrisbaneQantas and Jetstar also offer competitive prices and flexible flight schedules. Once at the airport, board the Airtrain for a 20-minute direct transfer to the city centre or travel in a hired car or rideshare.

    Train - For those who prefer a slower pace, traveling to Brisbane by train offers a comfortable and scenic journey. With rail services connecting all major cities, including Sydney and Melbourne, the Queensland Rail network provides an excellent option for travellers who want to sit back and enjoy the views. The arrival point, Roma Street Station, is centrally located, making for an easy hop to your next destination in the city.

    Driving - If you’re planning to explore the Australian coastline, driving to Brisbane is the perfect way to discover more on your trip. With well-maintained highways and scenic routes, you can travel comfortably in your own vehicle or hire a car. With plenty of rest areas and places to visit en route, you can turn your journey into a memorable experience.

    Buses - For a budget-friendly option, interstate buses are an excellent way to get to Brisbane. Several coach services operate regular routes from cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and beyond, with comfortable seating and affordable fares. The buses drop passengers at key locations in Brisbane, ensuring easy access to your accommodation and all the city’s highlights.

  • Both Brisbane domestic and international airports are 30min drive from the Centre.

    The AirTrain connects South Brisbane station to Brisbane’s international and domestic airports with stops in the Brisbane CBD and Fortitude Valley. Tickets and a timetable for this service can be found at the Information Desk or you can pre-book on the AirTrain website.

    TAXI - Taxi ranks are located outside the main entrance to the Centre on Merivale Street and a taxi drop off located at the Convention Centre Grey Street entrance.

    PUBLIC TRANSPORT

    Getting to BCEC via public transport is easy and efficient with bus, ferry and train options available. More information about planning your journey via public transport can be found on the TransLink website.

    TRAIN

    South Brisbane Railway Station adjacent to the Convention Centre on Grey Street or South Bank Railway Station are the most convenient stations to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

    BUS SERVICES

    The Cultural Centre Station on Melbourne Street and the South Bank Busway Station cnr of Colchester and Tribune Streets are closest to BCEC.

    CITYCATS & FERRIES

    The public transport ferries CityCats operate everyday and stop at the South Bank River Terminal on the Clem Jones Promenade. The inner-city ferry travels between the CBD, North Quay and Kangaroo Point, stopping at South Bank Terminal 1 and 2 on the Clem Jones Promenade.

  • BCEC provide undercover parking for up to 1500 vehicles. The car park has direct lift access to the Centre’s multiple convention floors and exhibition facilities. Car park 1 is best for Merivale Street rooms, Car Park 2 & 3 are best for Exhibition Halls and Grey Street rooms via Russell Street Walkway.

  • Since opening in 1995, the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre has showcased the talent of Australia’s leading Indigenous and non-Indigenous contemporary artists.  Comprising more than 50 works including paintings, works on paper, sculptures and site-specific installations, the BCEC Art Collection tells the dynamic and diverse story of visual arts practice in Australia from the 1980s through to today.
