Aylissa Canning

Aylissa is a highly respected stroke clinician and health leader, serving as Co-Chair of the Queensland Stroke Clinical Network and an active member of the Queensland StrokeLink Clinical Governance Committee. She contributes to national stroke strategy through her role with the Australian Stroke Coalition and Australian Stroke Alliance, supporting excellence and consistency in stroke service delivery across Australia. Additionally, Aylissa is a Board Director of the Australian and New Zealand Stroke Organisation (ANZSO), helping to shape the future direction of stroke care and professional practice across the region.

Her professional interests centre on advancing equitable access to high-quality stroke care, particularly those living in rural and remote communities. She is passionate about strengthening connections between metropolitan and regional stroke services and is a strong advocate for the ongoing development and recognition of the stroke nurse specialist workforce.
