Dr Hannah Coombe
Hannah (BMedRes Hons) is a neurovascular researcher in the perivascular research group (PVRG) led by A/Prof. Brad Sutherland in the Tasmanian School of Medicine. Hannah is in the final stages of her PhD titled “The Role of Pericytes in Vascular Recovery Following Stroke and Ageing.” Her work delved into the rapid injury and subsequent recovery of pericytes and blood vessels post-stroke. Additionally, she explored how ageing affects this recovery process and the impact of pericyte loss on vascular repair. Hannah’s ongoing work is focussed on how we may target pericytes therapeutically to improve stroke outcomes.
