A.Prof Renee Turner

A/Prof. Renee Turner leads the Translational Neuropathology Lab at the University of Adelaide. Her research program seeks to drive improved clinical translation for stroke, through development and implementation of clinically-relevant models, and is particularly interested in understanding what drives acute (i.e. oedema, reperfusion failure) and chronic (i.e. cognitive decline) stroke complications to develop targeted treatments that improve outcomes. She is recognised internationally for developing the first ovine model of stroke with reperfusion, and advancing novel stroke therapeutics and devices to clinical trial.
