Professor Shahid Nimjee

Shahid Nimjee, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor of Neurosurgery and practicing cerebrovascular and endovascular neurological surgeon at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), where he treats stroke patients. He also serves as the Surgical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center. Dr. Nimjee also leads a basic research laboratory at OSUWMC focused on evaluating anti-vWF aptamers and their antidotes for thromboembolic stroke. He subsequently co-founded and serves as Chief Scientific Officer of Basking Biosciences, leading the company's scientific strategy and stroke clinical program, including serving as global Co-Principal Investigator for the ongoing Phase 2 RAISE trial of BB-031. Dr. Nimjee received his undergraduate degree from Yale and his M.D. and Ph.D. from Duke, where he also completed his neurosurgical training and fellowship.
